Sara Sejin Chang (Sara van der Heide) @ Cinemasia Festival
As part of the official program this Friday there will be a screening of Four Months, Four Million Light Years at Cinemasia Festival, followed by an after talk with Sara Sejin Chang (Sara van der Heide). First the film Return to Seoul by French-Cambodian filmmaker Davy Chou will be shown, after which the violating system of global adoption will be further explored through the screening of Four Months, Four Million Light Years, followed by an artist talk between Sara and filmmaker Bo Wang.
Sara’s work is a shamanic healing journey through space and time. The immersive film installation unravels the colonial narratives behind transnational and transracial adoption, specifically the historical relations between the Netherlands and Korea.The film Return to Seoul explores the universal theme of identity in a bi-cultural tale that takes on a spectacular penetrating voyage by a young woman seeking home. It starts at 17:00.
