Reading Mara Lee
Mara Lee wrote the essay Did you ever see a bleeding star? (or why history feels like burning) that she will read on May 7.The essay is commissioned by ROZENSTRAAT and its written with Sara Sejin Chang (Sara van der Heide)’s exhibition Four Months, Four Million Light Years as a starting point. It will be available (in English and Dutch) on our website from this Sunday onwards. Make sure to read it online if you don’t make to the reading, especially when you were unable to see the exhibition. The beautiful and touching written essay really gives you some deep insights.
Mara Lee (South Korea, 1972 is a Swedish poet, novelist and scholar. Her most recent publication is the poetry collection Kärleken och hatete /Love and the Hate, 2018) in which poetic, narrative, and essayistic language conjoin. Lee is currently employed by the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm where she is working on a research project on affect, intimacy and processes of othering.
