Casting for Josefin Arnell’s new film Beast and Feast
Rozenstraat- a rose is a rose is a rose activily keeps on track with artists it worked with. Where possible we also help them with their future projects. In this perspective we will host the casting for Josefin Arnell’s new film Beast and Feast. The casting will be closed to the general public, but afterwards there will be an informal talk about the event in which the panel will talk about the casting process, their own expertise and contribution to the casting.
The casting panel will be formed by Dana Linssen (film critic NRC & Filmkrant, quarter master FilmForward, lecturer film ArtEZ & HKU, founder Slow Criticism Project, selection committee Berlinale Talents), Nadia de Vries (poet, critic), Melanie Bühler (curator Contemporary Art Frans Hals Museum) and Anna Maria Pinaka with her 5 month old baby Kurt (performance artist and co-path way leader of the Masters Degree program Visual Arts and Post-Contemporary Practice at AKV |St.Joost).
Information about the casting:
Beast and Feast is an experimental horror film about the animalistic metamorphosis of a police officer who is plagued by nightmares on the search for the perfect horse. It touches upon subjects of control, animalistic desires and projections.
We are looking for a number of roles and skills to be played: Police (several roles to be filled), Pregnant women, women 65+, screaming man 65+, Children ages of 8-14, Dead person, Playing drunk, kissing couple, fighting skills, Horses, dogs, Singers
We are asking you to prepare a short act for one or several roles or skills. You are also welcome to create your own role in relation to the subjects of the film. There will be the possibility to interact with actors on spot. Previous acting experience is not necessary.
The audition process will take place together with Josefin and an invited casting panel.
The audition process is not open for the public to watch.
